Chennai, 22nd June: POGO has launched a special edition of its School Contact Programme (SCP) in
Tamil Nadu, bringing the state’s rich traditions and vibrant culture directly to school kids through an
engaging, interactive on-ground initiative. Designed to celebrate Tamil heritage through participation
rather than observation, the programme aims to reach over 1 lakh students across 200 schools across
Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai.
As childhood experiences increasingly shift towards digital screens, opportunities for children to actively
engage with local traditions, community games and cultural practices have become limited. Through this
unique initiative, POGO seeks to bridge that gap by creating immersive experiences with its beloved
characters Chhota Bheem and Little Singham, along with the newest entrant to the POGO universe –
Sampat Champat, allowing children to connect with Tamil culture in a fun, relatable and memorable
way.
Speaking about the initiative, Tanaz Mehta, Head of Advertising Revenues, South Asia, Warner Bros.
Discovery, said, “At POGO, we believe meaningful learning happens through participation and shared
experiences. Tamil Nadu has a rich cultural heritage that deserves to be experienced, celebrated, and
passed on to younger generations in engaging ways. This special School Contact Programme creates
opportunities for children to connect with their traditions through play, teamwork, and cultural discovery
alongside their favourite POGO characters. This initiative also provides our brand partners a significant
platform to build authentic connections with POGO fans, families and consumers across the state. We
are excited to bring this unique celebration of Tamil culture to schools and inspire children to take pride
in their roots.”
Sharing her thoughts, Janhavi Vyas, Head of Marketing, South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said,
“With Tamil Thiruvizha, our endeavour is to present an immersive experience where children are not
merely observing but actively participating in the vibrant culture the state has to offer. We want to take
them beyond the screens and give them a chance to connect with their favourite characters in a fun and
unforgettable manner. From games, races to contests and interactive engagements, every activity is
planned keeping Tamil Nadu’s rich traditions at the heart of it. We look forward to interacting with the
kids across schools, further building a strong community of POGO fans.”
Titled POGO Tamil Thiruvizha, the activation sees POGO’s beloved characters, Chhota Bheem and Little
Singham, embark on a cultural journey across Tamil Nadu, inviting children to experience the state’s
colours, traditions, games, and everyday customs through a series of high-energy activities.
The programme features a range of specially designed interactive experiences inspired by Tamil culture,
including Little Singham Solraan Kelu, a Tamil-themed take on the classic Simon Says game; Bheem
Chutki Aattam Pattam Dress-Up, a fun-filled costume relay race; Filter Kaapi Ready-aa with Sampat
Champat, a fun splashy race to see which teacher can have the most “filter coffee” cups ready in record
time; and Bheem-oda Thiruvizha Quiz, a trivia competition testing children’s knowledge of Tamil food,
festivals, cinema and traditions.
