Produced by GA Harikrishnan and Durga Devi Harikrishnan, the new movie starring Sundar C in the lead role will be directed by Dhorai VZ
After the successful films ‘Iruttu’ and ‘Thalainagaram 2’, the winning combination of Sundar C and Dhorai VZ reunites once again for this project. Producer GA Harikrishnan states the film will be a gripping horror thriller that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
Speaking further about the project, he said, “We are happy to produce a film that brings Sundar C and Dhorai VZ together once again. We are planning to start shooting in the month of May. This film will offer a completely new experience for audiences.”
Yogi Babu, leading Bollywood actor and popular Tamil stars are set to play key characters. Announcement on this will be made soon. Several top-notch technicians are coming on board for the film. Cinematographer C. Ramprasad, who has worked on blockbuster Telugu films such as ‘Bhagavanth Kesari’, ‘Akhanda’, and ‘Akhanda 2’, will handle the cinematography for this project. Leading art director DRK Kiran will take care of the film’s art direction.

Chennai, December 7th, 2025: MGM Healthcare, a leading multispecialty hospital in the city, has unveiled its state-of-the-art Mobile ECMO Unit, an advanced emergency service that provides ICU-level heart-and-lung life support and rapid on-site stabilisation for patients in severe cardiac or respiratory failure, significantly improving survival by reducing delays in initiating life-saving care.
The mobile unit was launched by ACP P.K Ravi* , Mr. M.K Mohan , Member of the Legislative Assembly, Anna Nagar Constituency and Dr. Rajesh , Managing trustee, ALERT Foundation, in the presence of Dr. K. R. Balakrishnan, Director of Heart & Lung Transplantation, Dr. Suresh Rao, Co-Director, Institute of Heart & Lung Transplant, and Dr Senathi Nanda Kishore, Clinical Director, Senior Consultant & Clinical Lead, Anaesthesiology and Surgical ICU, MGM Healthcare.
Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) is a life-support technique in which blood is circulated outside the body, oxygenated through an artificial lung (membrane), and then pumped back in. ECMO is used when the heart or lungs are so severely impaired that conventional treatments such as medications, ventilators, or CPR can no longer maintain adequate oxygenation or circulation. It is critical in life-threatening conditions such as cardiac arrest, cardiogenic shock, severe heart attacks, massive pulmonary embolism, advanced pneumonia, ARDS, and uncontrolled respiratory failure. Along with the ECMO unit, they also conducted an advanced CME for equipping professionals with emergency and critical care beyond CPR and inotropes.
In his comments, Dr Senathi Nanda Kishore said, “Timely access to ECMO can be the difference between life and death in cardiopulmonary emergencies. Traditionally, ECMO support has been available only at highly specialised hospitals but there can be delays in reaching them. For patients suffering severe heart or lung failure in remote locations, every minute without adequate oxygenation or circulation raises the risk of irreversible organ damage, brain injury, or cardiac arrest. The new Mobile ECMO Unit bridges that critical gap by bringing advanced heart–lung life support directly to the patient’s location. It is staffed by expert critical-care physicians, perfusionists, and nurses who enable rapid on-site stabilisation and initiation of life-saving therapy even before hospital arrival.”
Dr K R Balakrishnan , said, “When all other traditional resuscitative strategies have been exhausted, ECMO is the only alternative left to save the life. ECMO is a resource-intensive, high stakes intervention reserved for the sickest patients, designed to provide temporary, life sustaining support in critical moments. Our goal is to provide timely, high-quality ECMO to every patient, wherever they are. By bringing an experienced ECMO team and a fully equipped mobile unit directly to the patient’s bedside, ECMO on Wheels reduces transfer delays, stabilises patients early, and delivers life-saving cardiopulmonary support exactly when it’s needed.”
In his comments, Dr. Suresh Rao said, “The Mobile ECMO Unit marks a major leap forward in emergency critical care. It allows us to reach patients with severe heart failure, advanced pneumonia, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a severe lung condition causing dangerously low oxygen levels, or pulmonary embolism, a condition of blood clot in the lungs, much faster, initiate life-saving support on-site, and safely transport even the sickest individuals. By extending ICU-level care to remote locations and reducing delays in treatment, this service is set to transform outcomes for patients who would otherwise have little chance of survival.”

Chennai, November 25, 2025: In a first for Tamil Nadu, SRM Prime Hospital has successfully used a bovine pericardial patch to close a neovaginal fistula – an abnormal connection between the rectum and neovagina – that was causing the passage of flatus and faecal matter through the neovagina of a 22-year-old transgender youth who had recently undergone male-to-female gender-affirming surgery elsewhere. The minimally invasive, endoscopic day-care procedure helped avert the need for major open-abdominal surgery for the patient from a poor economic background.
This procedure was performed by Dr. Arulprakash S., Clinical Lead and Senior Consultant, and Dr. Tarun J. George, Senior Consultant, Medical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, under the guidance of Dr. C. Paul Dilip Kumar, Director–Medical Services, SRM Prime Hospital.
In his comments, Dr. Arulprakash said, “The patient had undergone gender-affirming surgery at a hospital in another city a few months ago. Soon after the procedure, she developed a recto-neovaginal fistula, an abnormal connection between the rectum, the last part of the large intestine, and the neovagina created during surgery. As a result, flatus and faecal matter began passing through the neovagina. Such fistulas in transgender patients are rare complications of gender-affirming surgery, occurring in only about 1% of cases. An endoscopic procedure was attempted at the same hospital; a clip was used. But the relief was only temporary, and the condition recurred after the clip placement. This was a rare and challenging clinical situation.”
He added: “At that stage, an open abdominal surgery was considered the only option, which would have meant higher costs and a prolonged hospital stay. However, when she came to us, we opted for an endoscopic closure of the fistula using a novel bovine pericardial patch – the first such procedure in the state. Using bovine pericardial patch to support and close the fistula was a novel idea. Here the patched served as a cellular scaffold to bridge tissues in surgeries. Although a few similar attempts to close recto-neovaginal fistulas with this bioprosthesis have been made in other parts of the country, these cases have not been formally documented or published so far. The procedure required two endoscopists working simultaneously – one visualising the fistula from each side and the other helping position the patch while the clip was placed. Such advanced endoscopic capability is not available in many hospitals. With this approach, we were able to completely avoid a major surgery and still offer the patient a safe, day-care procedure. She is recovering well and is very satisfied with the outcome.”
Providing more details about the procedure, Dr. Tarun J. George said, “We performed a contrast CT scan to confirm the location and size of the fistula opening and evaluated various endoscopic management options before deciding on this approach. We first used argon plasma coagulation over the fistula opening – a method that uses gentle heat delivered through gas to prepare the area without direct contact. This was done to roughen the lining of surface that was to be closed. We then placed the bovine pericardial patch inside the tract and finally deployed a large 14 mm over-the-scope clip to seal the opening and anchor the patch securely, successfully closing the fistula. This minimally invasive procedure helped the patient avoid a major, complex surgery, along with a prolonged hospital stay and higher treatment costs. She was discharged the same day and walked out of the hospital. She only requires one week of rest at home, five days of antibiotics, and stool softeners for about three months.”
