Kalp Decentra Foundation and BIMTECH Announce Strategic Collaboration to Establish Blockchain Learning Centre


Chennai, 9th August 2024 –Kalp Decentra Foundation, known by its brand name KALP, and the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) are excited to announce the launch of a strategic partnership. This collaboration aims to harness their combined expertise and resources to establish a state-of-the-art Blockchain Learning Centre at BIMTECH’s campus. The market is set to expand largely at the back of increased adoption of blockchain for secure, along with significant investments already pouring in in the domain. The collaboration between Kalp Decentra Foundation and the BIMTECH will train & prepare next generation or any professional who wants to learn about the blockchain and make career in this industry. At the same time, the partnership will also provide practical experience and theoretical knowledge, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach blockchain technology.
Furthermore, the initiative also seeks to foster collaboration among students, faculty, and Kalp Blockchain, promoting innovative research and project development. As per the terms of the agreement, both the parties share individual duties. KALP will handle course development, designing and providing comprehensive course materials and resources. In addition, they will conduct faculty training through workshops and training sessions and deliver lectures and hands-on workshops for students.
The establishment of the Blockchain Learning Centre is an initiative led by the Area of IT at BIMTECH, with the guidance and support of the Director. The MOU was formalized in a closed ceremony between both organizations. The key representatives from BIMTECH included Director, Dr. Prabina Rajib, Registrar Dr. A.V. Shukla, Deputy Director Dr. Pankaj Priya, IT Area Head Dr. Kapil Garg, IT Infrastructure Head Dr. Amarnath Bose and the Point of Contact for the Blockchain Learning Centre, Dr. Ruchi Garg. And the resource people from KALP were Mr. Tapan Sangal, Co-Founder; Mr. Gagan Singhal, Co-Founder; and Mr. Kapil Dev, Chief Business Officer, each bringing their vision and expertise to the partnership.

On the other hand, BIMTECH will be responsible for providing the necessary infrastructure and facilities to conduct the course. 13 th Convocation held at B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology

Chennai, 19 th February 2024 – B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology held its
13 th Convocation at its campus today. A total of 2404 graduands including 93 Ph.D., 599 PG and 1712 UG
received their degree at the Convocation ceremony.
53 Students were awarded Gold Medals for securing top ranks. Of this 32 students were from UG and 21
students were from PG. Based on the restrictions 671 students received their degrees in person and
1680 students attended the convocation online. The degrees were handed over to the students by Dr. N.
Kalaiselvi, Director General, CSIR & Secretary DSIR.

Ministry of Skill Development and Entrpreneurshipfacilitates strategic partnership for the implementation of PMJANMAN scheme

December 29, 2023, ChennaiNational Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), and Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs,today signed an MoU for the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Abhiyaan (PMJANMAN)Scheme in Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) habitations. The partnership is a strategic plan to converge efforts towards attaining the vocational education and skilling component under the scheme. 

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, MSDE, said, “in the quest for an equitable society, skilling will play a transformational role in upgrading the livelihood opportunities of the tribal groups. The arts, crafts and culture of these groups have been celebrated for ages, but the PMJANMAN scheme will bring it to the centre stage to be experienced by all and to be part of it. In this context, the vision of the scheme draws no parallel and I am thankful that MSDE will play such a crucial role to bring it to life”.

As part of the MoU, TRIFED, which is the nodal agency appointed for implementing PVTGs Van Dhan VikasKendras (VDVKs) by the Ministry of Tribal affairs under the scheme, will facilitate the coordination with State Implementation Agencies (SIAs) for mobilization of community to form VDVKs, provide tools and equipment, map VDVKs as per the list of PVTGs habitations and share knowledge on possible areas of economic activities for establishing sustainable VDVKs.  

NIESBUD, on the other hand, will undertake mobilization for formation of aggregated groups, assess the training needs of respective VDVKs, develop training modules as per assessment and conduct training through identified training institutions or mentoring agencies. The training provided by NIESBUD will focus on financial literacy, value addition through use of upgraded equipment, creating market linkages and development of business acumen amongst the target groups.

The PMJANMAN scheme will equip the PVTG households and habitations with basic facilities such as safe housing, clean drinking water and sanitation, improved access to education, health and nutrition, road and telecom connectivity, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. With a total outlay of Rs.24,104 crore, an amount of Rs.15,000 crore will be made available to implement the Mission in the next three years under the Development Action Plan for the Scheduled Tribes (DAPST).

HITSEEE (Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Engineering Entrance Examination) aims to gauge the readiness of students for various engineering, architecture and design programmes at HITS. The HITSEEE online exams for the upcoming academic year will be held from 3rd May 2024 to 10th May 2024. The registration for the HITSEEE examinations commences from December 16th 2023 and closes on 29th April 2023.  Rank Holders at national level in both HITSEEE and HITSCAT 2024 will be awarded with a 100% tuition fee waiver.

HITSCAT (Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science Common Aptitude Test) 2024, that is used to assess and shortlist applicants for Non-Engineering programmes is scheduled from May 20th and May 21st 2024. The HITSCAT 2024 registrations open from December 16th 2023 and closes on 13th May 2024. Numerous scholarships have been introduced by HITS to attract meritorious students from different walks of life and the University has been consistently providing scholarships totaling over 5 crores to deserving and meritorious students every year.

Chennai, 8th November 2023: HaiVE, a leading on-premise AI company headquartered in Singapore, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with St Joseph’s Group of Institutions to launch AI Venture Factory, an AI startup focused technology business incubator (TBI). In its efforts to promote groundbreaking technology startups in Tamil Nadu, StartupTN has accepted AI Venture Factory, making it India’s first government-accredited AI incubator.
The launch event, held on November 8, 2023, was attended by over 5,000 participants and graced by Thiru T.M. Anbarasan, Hon’ble Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of Tamil Nadu. Michael Hiller, Co-Founder of Hiller Marine Australia, a HaiVE customer and investor, was the chief guest of the event.
The esteemed St. Joseph Group of Institutions will serve as the host institution for HaiVE’s AI Venture Factory, a Section 8 TBI. During the launch event, Dr. B. Babu Manoharan, Chairman of St. Joseph’s Group of Institutions, and now Director of AI Venture Factory, emphasized that the goal of this initiative is to serve as a launchpad for HaiVE’s products and projects.
Luminaries such as Tmt. Archana Patnaik, IAS, Secretary – MSME Department accepted a proposal to be reviewed and accredited as an AI focused TBI. Thiru. Aravind Ramesh, MLA, Shollinganallur and many more were also present to inaugurate this event.
In Thiru. Sivaraja Ramanathan, Mission Director & CEO’s stead, Mr Dinesh Sundaravelu VP at StartupTN, acknowledged the proposal to review and accredit AI Venture Factory as an AI Focused Business Incubator launched by both Corporate and Academic bodies, marking a significant stride towards establishing a recognized hub for AI development and entrepreneurship.
The AI Venture Factory is uniquely positioned to support aspiring AI entrepreneurs, as it offers a two-fold approach. First, as a deep tech research and development company, HaiVE can provide invaluable technological support to incubatees looking to leverage AI for social impact by providing probono consulting by HaiVE’s AI Scientists. Second, the AI Venture Factory will provide affordable exotic AI Server Infrastructure. The TBI will also assist startups in securing grants and other forms of funding from the Tamil Nadu government, given its close collaboration with government officials.
