• First of a kind camp in Chennai by a single specialty hospital
Chennai, December 01st, 2023: Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU, Chennai), a leading kidney care specialist in India & Chennai’s largest nephrology and urology healthcare specialty centre, proudly announces the successful conclusion of its Men’s Sexual Wellness Screening Camp. The free medical camp witnessed a strong response and a significant turnout of more than 40 patients, ranging from their early 20s to late 80s, benefiting from the comprehensive quality screenings and consultations offered.
Following International Men’s Day (19th November), Dr. Sanjay Prakash, Consultant Urologist, and Microsurgical Andrologist, AINU Chennai emphasized the critical need for prioritizing men’s sexual health. “We conducted a series of tests that contribute to a thorough diagnosis and expert-based examination, including lab assessments monitoring total testosterone, random blood sugar, lipid profile, endothelial scan and an andrology consultation – all provided completely free to the public. I would like to emphasize that we need to focus on shedding our inhibitions on sexual practices. Breaking the taboo associated with this topic and adopting right sexual practices is crucial. Men’s health and sexual wellness are often much neglected and the negligence could severely impact both their personal and professional life. This camp not only focussed on sexual wellness, but also served as a screening for cardiovascular health” commented Dr. Sanjay Prakash.
While there is a growing emphasis on andrology and men’s reproductive health in India, awareness remains a challenge due to the sensitivity surrounding the subject.
