



Chennai, 09 th September 2025: Phoenix Marketcity Chennai, the city’s premier lifestyle destination
blending shopping, dining, and immersive experiences successfully hosted a large-scale fire
evacuation mock drill in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services recently. The
initiative aimed to create fire safety awareness among retailers and customers while ensuring
complete site readiness for emergency response.
The drill was carried out under the guidance of senior fire and rescue officials, including Mrs. Seema
Agrawal, IPS, DGP/Director, Fire and Rescue Services, Tamil Nadu, along with G. Sathyanarayanan,
Joint Director (Northern Region, Chennai), Tennarasu – DFO (District Fire Officer), Aarnisha
Priyadharshini – DFO (South), and P. Loganathan – DFO (Suburban District). They were supported
by a strong team comprising three Assistant District Fire Officers, eleven Station Officers, and eighty
firemen.
As part of the drill, advanced firefighting vehicles and equipment were deployed, including the
Bronto Skylift (104mtr), Water Bowser, and Emergency Rescue Tender, simulating real-life
emergency scenarios. The exercise successfully tested the mall’s preparedness, evacuation protocols
and staff responsiveness during emergencies.
This successful initiative reaffirms Phoenix Marketcity Chennai’s commitment to providing a safe and
