World Breastfeeding Week, Seethapathy Hospital launches free breastfeeding consultation helpline for new mothers in Chennai

Chennai, August 2024: To mark World Breastfeeding Week, Seethapathy Hospital has organized various awareness activities. The hospital launched free breastfeeding consultation helpline (7305644465) aims to provide mothers with accurate and reliable medical advice, addressing any questions or concerns they may have. This helpline provides access to certified and experienced lactation consultants and operates 24 X 7.

Additionally, the hospital held an interactive session with experts on breastfeeding to highlight its importance, aiming to educate new and expectant mothers, as well as their families, on balancing work and breastfeeding.

Seethapathy Hospital also introduced the Mother’s Support Club today, which is dedicated to supporting mothers from their child’s birth up to the child’s second year. This club will offer support to new mothers regarding breast feeding, assist in recognizing feeding cues and provide tips on weaning going forward.

Breastfeeding reduces the burden of childhood illness and the risk of certain types of cancers and noncommunicable diseases for mothers. When mothers receive the support, they need to breastfeed their babies, everyone benefits. Improving breastfeeding rates could save over 820,000 children’s lives each year, according to the latest available data.

In her comments, Dr Uma Ram, Senior Obstetrician and Gynecologist and Director Seethapathy Hospital said, “Some studies from India shows 20-25% skin to skin in the first hour after birth. Globally 6/10 babies are not put to the breast within the first hour. With a commitment from the health care facility and motivated staff along with antenatal preparation of the mothers through breastfeeding classes at Seethapathy hospital we have been able to achieve 85% skin to skin, 60% baby to breast within the first hour and 70% exclusive breast feeding at 6 months.”

In her comments, Mrs Rekha Sudarsan, Childbirth Educator and Lactation Consultant, Seethapathy Hospital said, “The first hour after birth is important for the mother and baby. The time soon after the delivery of the baby is when many physiological changes happen in the mother. Careful observation at this period is needed to pick up potential problems. The first hour is also very significant for the baby and called the golden hour. At this time, initiating skin to skin contact and breast feeding is crucial as it imparts many advantages to the baby.”

“Exclusive breast feeding is also important. Some women will have difficulty in feeding or may not be able to feed due to medications they are on. Others can develop mastitis or breast abcess. These women need additional support as they can continue to bond effectively and need not feel guilty because they have good reasons to introduce alternative feeds to the baby” added Mrs Rekha Sudarsan

World Breastfeeding Week is observed annually from August 1 to 7, raising awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and providing support to mothers. The theme for World Breastfeeding Week 2024 is “Closing the gap: Breastfeeding support for all.” This year’s focus is on celebrating the diversity of breastfeeding mothers throughout their breastfeeding journeys. The campaign aims to showcase how families, societies, communities, and health workers can support every breastfeeding mother, regardless of their circumstances.

இந்தப் படத்திற்கு தற்போது ‘ VD 12’ என தற்காலிகமாக பெயரிடப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. பார்வையாளர்களுக்கு இதற்கு முன் எப்போதும் இல்லாத புதுமையான அனுபவத்தை வழங்குவதற்காக தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் மிகுந்த கவனத்துடனும், ஆர்வத்துடனும் அயராது உழைத்து வருகின்றனர்.

கிரிஷ் கங்காதரன் – ஜோமோன் டி. ஜான் ஆகியோர் இணைந்து ஒளிப்பதிவு செய்யும் இந்த திரைப்படத்திற்கு ‘ராக் ஸ்டார்’ அனிருத் ரவிச்சந்தர் இசையமைக்கிறார். தேசிய விருது பெற்ற கலைஞரான நவீன் நூலி படத்தொகுப்பு பணிகளை மேற்கொள்கிறார்.

இந்த திரைப்படத்தை சித்தாரா என்டர்டெய்ன்மென்ட் மற்றும் ஃபார்ச்சூன் ஃபோர் சினிமாஸ் ஆகிய நிறுவனங்கள் சார்பில் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் சூரிய தேவரா நாக வம்சி மற்றும் சாய் சௌஜன்யா ஆகியோர் இணைந்து பிரம்மாண்டமான பொருட்செலவில் தயாரித்து வருகிறார்கள். இந்த திரைப்படத்தை ஸ்ரீ காரா ஸ்டுடியோஸ் வழங்குகிறது.‌

Chennai, August 3rd, 2024 : SIMS Hospital celebrated Indian Organ Donation day, by paying tribute to the altruistic individuals who have profoundly impacted lives through the selfless act of organ donation. SIMS Hospital invited donor families and launched a wall of hope by displaying donor photos as a tribute to for their selfless act. Dr. M. Ravi, IPS (Former DGP, Greater Chennai Police) pledged his support for organ donation and inspired others.

The donors who made significant contributions in different age groups includes, Mr. Pattabiraman, a man of enormous compassion and strong spirit, continues to impress with his incredible philanthropy. Four people now have a chance to live because to his organ donation. Mr. Ganapathi Akash, a passionate and skilled football player, died too soon, yet his legacy lives on via his followers. His organ donation saved 6 lives. Mr. Akash, a talented young donor, left an impression on everyone. His organ donation shows his empathy and saved 5 lives.
Dr. Bhuvaneswari, a champion and COVID warrior in difficult times, spent her life saving 6 lives. Organ donation was a direct result of her virtue. Mr. Stanislavaus, a meticulous and determined donor, is honoured for saving 5 lives. Organ donation shows his compassion. Donor Altruistic Mr. Raja, who always supports his family, inspires others. His organ donation gave seven families hope. Donor Mr. Sudhakar’s willingness to help and his generosity saved 4 lives.
During the occasion Dr. M. Ravi, IPS stated “Organ transplantation is more than a medical marvel; it’s a heroic testament to the indomitable human spirit. Let us elevate organ donation to a symbol of honor and collectively commit to this life-affirming endeavor.”
Dr. Ravi Pachamuthu, Chairman, SRM group said “More than just a name, the hope, bravery, and empathy of donors and their families shine through. Many people have been given a second life because of their kindness. Organ donation gives people hope when times are tough. We must establish a culture that appreciates kindness. In honouring the donors and their families, SIMS Hospital is overjoyed and proud”.

மதுரைத் தமிழ் இசைச் சங்கம் 50 ஆண்டுகள் கடந்து இந்த ஆண்டு பொன்விழா கொண்டாடுகிறது. அந்த விழாவில் கவிஞர் வைரமுத்துவுக்கு ‘முத்தமிழ்ப் பேரறிஞர்’ என்ற பட்டம் வழங்கப்படுகிறது. இந்தப் பட்டமானது 1லட்சம் ரூபாய், பொற்கிழி, பதக்கம் மற்றும் பட்டயம் கொண்டது. ஆகஸ்ட் 5ஆம் தேதி மதுரை ராஜா முத்தையா மன்றத்தில் நடைபெறும் விழாவில், அமைச்சர் தங்கம் தென்னரசு, மதுரைத் தமிழ் இசைச் சங்கத் தலைவர் ஏ.சி.முத்தையா, தேவகி முத்தையா உள்ளிட்டோர் கலந்துகொள்கிறார்கள். கர்நாடக இசைப் பாடகியும் சமயச் சொற்பொழிவாளருமான விசாகா ஹரி பொற்கிழி பெறுகிறார்.

கவிஞர் வைரமுத்து வாழ்க்கைக் குறிப்பு:

பழைய மதுரை மாவட்டமாய் விளங்கிய இன்றைய தேனி மாவட்டத்தில் வைகை அணையை ஒட்டியுள்ள மெட்டூரில் 1953ஆம் ஆண்டு கவிஞர் வைரமுத்து பிறந்தார். தந்தை ராமசாமித் தேவர்; தாயார் அங்கம்மாள்.

உயர்நிலைப் பள்ளிப்படிப்பை வடுகபட்டியில் முடித்த வைரமுத்து சென்னைப் பச்சையப்பன் கல்லூரியில் எம்.ஏ படித்துத் தங்கப்பதக்கம் பெற்றார். இவர் எழுதிய ‘வைகறை மேகங்கள்’ என்ற கவிதை நூல் இவர் கல்லூரியில் படிக்கும்போதே ஒரு மகளிர் கல்லூரிக்குப் பாடமாக விளங்கியது. கல்லூரிப் படிப்பை முடித்த கவிஞர் வைரமுத்து தமிழ்நாடு மாநிலச் சட்ட ஆட்சிமொழி ஆணையத்தில் மொழிபெயர்ப்பாளராகச் சிறிதுகாலம் பணியாற்றினார்.

1980ஆம் ஆண்டு பாரதிராஜாவின் நிழல்கள் படத்தில் ‘பொன்மாலைப் பொழுது’ என்ற பாடலின் மூலம் பாடலாசிரியராக அறிமுகமானார். இதுவரை 8000 பாடல்கள் எழுதியுள்ள கவிஞர் வைரமுத்து, இந்தியாவின் சிறந்த பாடலாசிரியருக்காக 7முறை தேசிய விருது பெற்றிருக்கிறார்.
திரைப்பாட்டு – இலக்கியம் என்று இரண்டு துறைகளிலும் சிகரம்தொட்ட வைரமுத்து தனது கள்ளிக்காட்டு இதிகாசம் நூலுக்காக சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருது பெற்றிருக்கிறார். அது 22 இந்திய மொழிகளில் மொழிபெயர்க்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

இந்தியாவின் உயர்ந்த விருதுகளான பத்மஸ்ரீ மற்றும் பத்மபூஷண் விருதுகளையும் பெற்றிருக்கிறார்.

அந்நாள் இந்தியக் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் ஆ.ப.ஜெ.அப்துல்கலாம் இவரைக் ‘காப்பியக் கவிஞர்’ என்று கொண்டாடினார். அந்நாள் இந்தியப் பிரதமர் அடல் பிகாரி வாஜ்பாய் இவரைக் ‘கவிசாம்ராட்’ என்று பாராட்டியிருக்கிறார். தமிழ்நாட்டின் அந்நாள் முதலமைச்சர் கலைஞர் மு.கருணாநிதி இவருக்குக் ‘கவிப்பேரரசு’ என்று பட்டம் தந்திருக்கிறார்.

உலகின் 5 கண்டங்களிலும் தமிழ் இலக்கியப் பயணம் செய்தவர். அண்மையில் இவர் எழுதிய ‘மகாகவிதை’ என்னும் பெருங்கவிதை நூலுக்கு மலேசியன் இந்தியக் காங்கிரஸ் மற்றும் தமிழ்ப்பேராயம் இணைந்து ஒரு லட்சம் ரிங்கிட் (இந்திய மதிப்பில் 17லட்சம்) பரிசு வழங்கின.
இதுவரை 39 நூல்கள் எழுதியிருக்கும் கவிஞர் வைரமுத்து மூன்று பல்கலைக் கழகங்களின் கெளரவ டாக்டர் பட்டம் பெற்றவராவார். இவரது படைப்புகளை ஆராய்ச்சி செய்து 40க்கும் மேற்பட்டவர்கள் டாக்டர் பட்டம் பெற்றிருக்கிறார்கள். இப்போது தமிழ் இசைச் சங்கம் முத்தமிழ்ப் பேரறிஞர் பட்டத்தை வழங்கியுள்ளது.
