JGU and IIT Madras Collaborate to Design Advanced Robot Tour Guide for India’s First Constitution Museum 

CHENNAI, 13 November 2024: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) and O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) have entered into a noteworthy Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development of S.A.M.V.I.D. (Smart Assistant for Museum Visitors and Interactive Displays), an innovative semi-humanoid guide robot designed for the new established India’s First Constitution Museum & The Rights and Freedoms Academy at JGU Campus in Sonipat, Haryana. This initiative aims to celebrate 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution of India. The innovative effort to develop a unique robot is to enhance visitor engagement through advanced technology. 

The Constitution Museum and The Rights & Freedoms Academy is an unparalleled initiative and a landmark institution to be established in the annals of Indian constitutional history. The museum will be inaugurated and dedicated to the nation on 26th November 2024 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India.

Towards this end, cutting edge technology, AI driven interactive experiences, 3-D installations and progressive displays will be a key part of this novel museum, the first of its kind to be established at any educational institution. The collaboration between the O.P. Jindal Global University and the celebrated centre for technical expertise at IIT Madras will bring to life an unprecedented experience to commemorate the most significant document that defines India as a Republic.

The S.A.M.V.I.D. project will utilise advanced language models making visitor’s experience interactive, providing guided tours and detailed information about the exhibits, including profiles of every member of the Constituent Assembly and their pivotal contributions to the Constitution. This collaboration signifies a significant step towards integrating technology into educational and cultural experiences. 

JGU is establishing India’s First Constitution Museum to enrich the understanding the Constitution with various sections highlighting its significance and the historical debates that shaped its creation. The museum will feature engaging installations and interactive displays that illuminate the journey of the Constitution over the past 75 years. The museum will be a key destination for understanding the Constitution, with sections dedicated to each part of the document and its significance. Through many formats—textual, audio-visual, experiential— the museum will ignite visitors’ interest in the Constitution, its evolution and its various components.

  
The art featured in the museum, anticipated to be a major attraction, will include both pieces from the original handcrafted document and artworks inspired by the Constitution.

JGU’s partnership with IIT Madras will bring the latest in design, robotic application, bespoke hardware systems and application of new technology towards creating a museum which brings history alive.

As the S.A.M.V.I.D. project develops, it aims to redefine how visitors experience the Constitution Museum at JGU, fostering a greater appreciation for India’s constitutional journey through the innovative use of technology where history and tradition will meet technology and innovation.” 

IIT Madras, oversees the implementation of S.A.M.V.I.D. through its Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIE). The OIE is committed to nurturing entrepreneurial initiatives and fostering innovation through collaboration. The Robotics centre at IIT Madras has a dedicated team of scientists and experts who are pathbreakers in the field of robotics and its application in medical, technical, underwater and teleoperated robots. This will be unique project where a tour guide robot will be designed for the Constitution Museum at JGU.

Space Zone India & Martin Group unveils Mission Rhumi 2024: Sets To Launch India’s

First Reusable Hybrid Rocket on a Mobile Launch pad

The satellite launch is scheduled to take place from ECR, Chennai on 24 th August 2024
Chennai, 21 st August, 2024: Scaling new heights in aerospace technology, Space Zone India, an
emerging aero-tech company from Tamil Nadu, today announced the unveiling of Mission
RHUMI 2024, a first-of-its-kind milestone in the Indian aerospace industry. The company
through this mission will be launching India’s first reusable hybrid rocket on a mobile
Launchpad that harnesses the power of technology, combining the advantages of both liquid
oxidizer and solid fuel propellant systems to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
The Mobile launch system allows us to adapt to various launch scenarios with ease from any
location. The official launch of the rocket is scheduled to take place on 24 th August, 2024 at ECR,
Chennai.
RHUMI 1, the rocket is set to carry three Cube satellites designed to monitor and collect data on
atmospheric conditions, including cosmic radiation intensity, UV radiation intensity, air quality, and
more. The rocket will deploy 50 different Pico satellites, each dedicated to studying various aspects of
atmospheric conditions such as vibration, accelerometer readings, altitude, ozone levels, toxic content,
and natural and synthetic molecular bonding of fibers, enhancing our understanding of environmental
dynamics.

Kalp Decentra Foundation and BIMTECH Announce Strategic Collaboration to Establish Blockchain Learning Centre


Chennai, 9th August 2024 –Kalp Decentra Foundation, known by its brand name KALP, and the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) are excited to announce the launch of a strategic partnership. This collaboration aims to harness their combined expertise and resources to establish a state-of-the-art Blockchain Learning Centre at BIMTECH’s campus. This initiative marks a significant step towards advancing blockchain education and research, providing students and professionals with cutting-edge knowledge and skills in this transformative technology.
According to a report by Fortune Business Insights, the global blockchain technology market size was valued at $17.57 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow from $27.84 billion in 2024 to $825.93 billion by 2032, exhibiting a CAGR of 52.8% during the forecast period (2024-2032). The market is set to expand largely at the back of increased adoption of blockchain for secure, along with significant investments already pouring in in the domain. The collaboration between Kalp Decentra Foundation and the BIMTECH will train & prepare next generation or any professional who wants to learn about the blockchain and make career in this industry. At the same time, the partnership will also provide practical experience and theoretical knowledge, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach blockchain technology.
Furthermore, the initiative also seeks to foster collaboration among students, faculty, and Kalp Blockchain, promoting innovative research and project development. As per the terms of the agreement, both the parties share individual duties. KALP will handle course development, designing and providing comprehensive course materials and resources. In addition, they will conduct faculty training through workshops and training sessions and deliver lectures and hands-on workshops for students.
The establishment of the Blockchain Learning Centre is an initiative led by the Area of IT at BIMTECH, with the guidance and support of the Director. The MOU was formalized in a closed ceremony between both organizations. The key representatives from BIMTECH included Director, Dr. Prabina Rajib, Registrar Dr. A.V. Shukla, Deputy Director Dr. Pankaj Priya, IT Area Head Dr. Kapil Garg, IT Infrastructure Head Dr. Amarnath Bose and the Point of Contact for the Blockchain Learning Centre, Dr. Ruchi Garg. And the resource people from KALP were Mr. Tapan Sangal, Co-Founder; Mr. Gagan Singhal, Co-Founder; and Mr. Kapil Dev, Chief Business Officer, each bringing their vision and expertise to the partnership.

On the other hand, BIMTECH will be responsible for providing the necessary infrastructure and facilities to conduct the course.
