இந்த நிகழ்வு , ரஷ்யாவின் மிகச் சிறந்த திரைப்பட ஸ்டுடியோக்களில் ஒன்றான MOSFILM யின் வளமான பாரம்பரியத்தை கௌரவிப்பதோடு, 3 நாள் சினிமா கொண்டாட்டத்தின் துவக்கமாகவும் அமைந்திருந்தது.

நடிகர் கார்த்தி பேசியதாவது… கோடை விடுமுறைக்கு ஊருக்கு போவது அவ்வளவு பிடிக்கும், ஊரை விட்டு வர மனசே வராது. அந்த மாதிரி கதை என்பதால் தான் மெய்யழகன் படம் செய்தேன். கடைக்குட்டி சிங்கம் படத்திற்குப் பிறகு, உழவன் பவுண்டேசன் ஆரம்பித்த பிறகு, சென்னையில் விவசாயிகள் விவசாயம் சார்ந்து வேலை செய்பவர்களைச் சந்தித்துப் பேசினோம். அதில் முக்கியமானவர்கள் ஹிமாக்கரன் அவர்கள், ரேகா அவர்கள், அவர் நண்பர்கள் புரபசர் இஸ்மாயில் அவர்கள், அவர்களோடு சேர்ந்து பேசும்போது, அவர்கள் எங்களுக்கு நிறைய அட்வைஸ் தந்தார்கள். சென்னையில் விவசாயம் சார்ந்து என்னென்ன செய்யலான என பேசும்போது, சென்னையில் திருவிழா நடத்திப் பல ஆண்டுகள் ஆகிவிட்டது. கொரோனாவிற்கு முன்னர் நடந்தது, நம் குழந்தைகளுக்குக் கிராமத்தைப் பற்றி, நம் உணவுகள் பற்றி, நம் பாரம்பரியம் பற்றி தெரியவில்லை, அதைத் தெரியப்படுத்தும் வகையில், பல மாதங்கள் போராடி இந்த செம்பொழில் திருவிழாவை மீண்டும் ஏற்பாடு செய்து நடத்துகிறார்கள். இதற்கு உழவன் பவுண்டேசன் ஒரு சிறு உதவியாக இருந்துள்ளது எனக்குப் பெருமை. இங்கு கிராமத்தில் நடக்கும் எல்லாமும் இருக்கிறது. மாட்டு வண்டியில் ஆரம்பித்து, காளைகள், ஒயிலாட்டம், மயிலாட்டம், சின்ன சின்ன உணவுகள், தெருக்கூத்து, எனத் திருவிழாவில் இருக்கும் அனைத்தும் இங்கு இருக்கிறது. இந்த விழா இன்னும் இரண்டு நாட்கள் நடக்கிறது. என் குடும்பத்தினர் நாளை வருகிறார்கள். எல்லோரும் வாருங்கள், உங்கள் குழந்தைகளுக்கு நம் பாரம்பரியத்தை அறிமுகப்படுத்துங்கள். ஜல்லிக்கட்டு பற்றிக் கேட்கிறார்கள், சென்னையில் நடந்தால் நல்லது தான், அதையும் இவர்களிடம் சொன்னால் ஏற்பாடு செய்து விடுவார்கள், சென்னையில் மாடு கொண்டு வந்துவிடப் பலர் ஆசைப்படுவார்கள், போட்டி போடுவார்கள், எல்லா காளைகளும் வந்துவிடும். நான் நிஜத்தில் ஜல்லிக்கட்டு பார்த்ததில்லை, மெய்யழகன் பட ஷீட்டிங்கில் தான் சென்று பார்த்தேன். அது பிரமாதமான ஒரு விசயம். மாட்டை அடக்குவதோ, காயப்படுத்துவதோ இல்லை, வெளிநாடுகளில் நடக்கும் போட்டிகளில் மாட்டைக் காயப்படுத்துவார்கள் ஆனால் நம் ஜல்லிக்கட்டு ஏறி தழுவுவது தான். மாட்டை அரவணைப்பது தான் நம் ஜல்லிக்கட்டு. இங்கு இந்த திருவிழாவில் பல விவசாயிகள் தங்கள் விலை பொருட்களைக் காட்சிப்படுத்தியுள்ளார்கள். எல்லோரும் வந்து பார்வையிடுங்கள். இந்த கொண்டாட்டத்தில் நீங்களும் இணையுங்கள். அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி.

Chennai, 27 September 2024: Rela Hospital organised a 5-km walkathon to raise awareness about lung and heart health, attracting over 500 participants, including doctors and students, in commemoration of World Lung Day and World Heart Day, which fall on September 25 and 29, respectively.

The hospital is also hosting a free heart and lung health camp on September 29. This event is open to individuals experiencing symptoms related to heart or lung conditions. The heart check to be conducted will include an ECG, an ECHO screening, and a consultation with a cardiologist. Chennai, September 27, 2024: In a touching tale of humanitarianism, Selva, an 11-year-old boy from Tiruchirappalli who survived Fanconi Anemia, met the person who helped save his life—Dr. Smita Joshi, a 26-year-old clinical pharmacist from Bengaluru for the first time. Selva, who was treated under Dr. Aruna Rajendran, now attends school in the 7th standard, enjoying a new lease on life thanks to the blood stem cell transplant he received.
Dr. Smita Joshi, a dedicated healthcare professional working in Bengaluru, became a stem cell donor with DKMS BMST Foundation India, driven by her passion for helping others. Despite initial reservations from her family, she proceeded with the donation without informing her parents. “I felt it was something I had to do. Knowing I could give someone a second chance at life was motivation enough,” said Smita.
“We are immensely grateful to Dr. Smita Joshi for her life-saving deed. Selva’s recovery has been nothing short of remarkable,” said the survivor’s parents.
Selva was diagnosed with Fanconi Anemia, a rare genetic disorder that affects the bone marrow’s ability to produce blood cells. A stem cell transplant was Selva’s only hope for survival. Dr. Aruna Rajendran, Associate Professor, Dept of Hematology, Institute of Child Health, Madras Medical College & Bone Marrow Transplant Unit In charge, Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai, said, “Fanconi Anemia is a rare but serious genetic disorder that can lead to bone marrow failure and life-threatening conditions like leukemia. A stem cell transplant is often the only curative option for these patients. I am pleased to see Selva fully recovered and thriving after his transplant. It is crucial that more individuals, like Dr. Smita Joshi, register as potential stem cell donors, as this can provide hope and life-saving treatment to many more patients in need.”
Every five minutes, someone in India is diagnosed with blood cancer or a blood disorder such as thalassemia or aplastic anaemia. A significant number of these patients are children and young adults, and for many, a blood stem cell transplant is their only hope for recovery. However, for the transplant to be successful, the patient must find a matching Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) donor. Unfortunately, due to the scarcity of registered blood stem cell donors, most patients struggle to find a suitable match. With only a one-in-a-million chance of finding a compatible donor, there is an urgent need for more individuals of Indian ethnicity to register as potential donors.
